I’ve been scrolling through weather forecasts, anxiously waiting for one of them to stop telling me it’s going to rain during my farm wedding in the Hudson Valley this weekend.

Feeling a need to direct my energy into something more productive, I’ve decided to delve into your questions about recent Silicon Valley developments.

The biggest news of late in venture capital world has been Sequoia’s decision to split into five different firms. It’s been a tough run for Sequoia senior steward Roelof Botha. I also answer a question about my piece on consumer social startups from December 2020 during the pandemic. Finally, I get a question about walking dead startups among us.

Q: What do you think is the real reason Sequoia is splitting up into separate funds focused on the US, China, and India? Why haven't they held anyone accountable for losing $214M on FTX?
